Webber cool on Vettel supporting role

Mark Webber has reacted reluctantly to Sebastian Vettel's claim he is set to drive to support his championship charge this weekend in Brazil.

Unlike 22-year-old Vettel, Red Bull's Webber is out of contention for the 2009 title and two weeks ago at Suzuka spent his race afternoon testing parts for this Interlagos round.

German Vettel, who needs to win on Sunday in order to boost his chances of staying in the fight with the Brawn drivers, told reporters on Thursday he is happy that Webber is now his backer rather than an internal rival.

"I think it is a good thing not to have the situation they (Brawn) are facing, (where) they have to race each other," he said.

"We are working together hand in hand and I think if the situation should come up, then I think he (Webber) is the last one to deny any help."

32-year-old Webber however was unenthusiastic about the prospect of ceding to team orders in Brazil.

"I doubt it," the Australian answered when asked if he will have to play a supporting role.

"My guys are fired up for a good result, so we're going to come here and try and get one," Webber added.

He also said Briton Button is more deserving of the championship than either Vettel or Rubens Barrichello.

"He's won more races than anyone, he's done a lot of overtaking, the other guys haven't done that," said Webber.

"He's done a lot to get himself out of sticky situations to keep his championship alive, and I don't think other people have done that."
