BRNO DEBUT COULD BE CRUCIAL FOR BRATT'S F2 TITLE HOPES

Just six races remain in the 2010 FIA Formula 2 Championship but with a maximum of 150 points still available, category front-runner Will Bratt knows there is everything to play for as he prepares for his first ever outing at the 5.4-kilometre Brno Circuit in the Czech Republic.

Having taken his third top three result of the season at Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit less than a week ago, the reigning Party Poker Racing Euroseries 3000 Champion is currently a healthy fourth overall in the title race ahead of rounds 13 and 14 of the F2 season on 31st July/1st August.

Scoring the most points of any of the title contenders over the course of last weekend's two races, Will is still seeking his elusive first win of the year and although Brno will be a brand new challenge he's unsurprisingly confident of hitting the ground running a week from now.

"Brno should be good, I'm looking forward to driving the track for the first time and I'm sure we'll be competitive", said the British ace, "It could be a really pivotal weekend for my championship, the two leaders (Jolyon Palmer and Dean Stoneman) are both a long way ahead but if they have a patchy weekend, as they both did at Brands, it could give us a good opportunity to close up in the points."

Although Will's season has been hit by several mechanical issues and some on-track contact, the rapid 22-year-old's strong race pace has ensured he's been a genuine threat throughout his maiden Formula 2 campaign.

With three podiums, three fourth places, two top fives and one sixth position underlining his front-running credentials, the Banbury-based driver's only non-finishes have come by way of contact from other drivers -- once in Marrakech, Morocco, and once at Zolder, Belgium -- with a driveshaft failure leading to a non-classified result in Portim0x00e3o, Portugal.

"We've certainly been pretty consistent this year which has been great but I've tended to leave too much work to do in the races by not quite hooking everything up in qualifying", said Will, "If I can get that right in Brno I know we have what it takes to be on the first two rows. My aim is to try and take two podiums, that'll be really important for our championship hopes."

Pre-event practice for the Brno weekend will take place on Friday, 30th July, with the first qualifying session getting underway at 09.15 (local time) on Saturday, 31st July, and the opening race, round 13, starting at 13.10. On Sunday, 1st August, round 14 qualifying is scheduled to begin at 08.55 with the second race following at 15.50.

As ever, television coverage of each Brno encounter is expected to be screened live in the UK on the British Eurosport network while live streaming will be available online at www.formulatwo.com
