Draco Racing interview with Team Manager Nadia Morini

Interview of the Team Manager Draco Nadia Morini after the end of the championship 2008

A few days after the end of the 2008 Championship World Series 3.5, Dr. Nadia Morini, Team Manager of the International Draco Racing, answers about questions sent by a newspaper that wants to do a Draco report about facts and moments of the past championship and of the future season.

- QUESTION -
The season 2008 of the World Series by Renault championship has just ended. Now we can analyse this intense year, with moments of happiness and bitterness, from victories and misfortune, with the two drivers who have driven with you this adventure. What do you think about this season just passed?

- N.M. -
Unfortunately for those who follow us from a distance, this season may be disastrous. It was since 1989 that Draco does not arrive in this position in a championship, but in recent years there have never been so many cases of very big misfortune, I think that they are those of previous years and those for the next 20 years... I have not yet analyzed in depth this year and I don't intend to do so, I declare him a separate year.

- QUESTION -
Winter tests will begin soon. Have you already selected the drivers who will drive with Draco? Have you ideas that you can reveal about new drivers 2009?

- N.M. -
We selected them for a long time and this demonstrates the strength of the Draco Team! Those who live in our world sees and knows the season, the real season, living on track even during the most blacks moments but always knowing to be women, men, drivers of the Draco Team! You know that we are the only team to have already the drivers defined for the 2009 tests from two months. Let's go and see ... I don't want to say anything except that I can't wait to be on track.

- QUESTION -
At the end of the season, drivers who have driven with Draco continue their journey towards the road of professionalism. But we know that you keep in touch with many of them. What is the relationship with your former drivers and how you continue to follow them after the end of the championship?

- N.M. -
First of all, through our presence in their lives both personal and professional. At the end of the year with us, we try to create them a professional way according to their characteristics. We continue to follow the drivers who have driven with us in previous years (in this regard I give soon a sensational news ...). In addition to giving them the know-how, passion, human synergy and strength of the Team, we want to see them move forward in the common goal that unites us: the passion of the motoring world. The passion for this world becomes part of you, WE ARE OUR PASSION!

- QUESTION -
How do you follow a new driver when he become a part of Draco? What advice and teachings you give him? How long does it take to adapt him to the new car and the new team?

- N.M. -
It depends on the driver, his speed, his desire and his tenacity, there are no deadlines or time. If he loves what he does, he understands that he has found people who love this world as him, then we follow and adopt the famous "Draco method ". Much work, tenacity and strength for own physical and own mind. For those who love this world there isn't teachings, we live in this way. Free time? Sure. Family? Certainly, but first there's the car and Draco, then everything else. There is no fixed explanation and behavior, we always apply a different technique customizing it for the driver, but the basis is the same!

- QUESTION -
What are your goals for the future season and how Draco team will prepare itself to face the championship 2009?

- N.M. -
Our goals? Win. Immensely and strongly win! We will go immediately on track, we'll take the dust that we have on uniforms for the past championship and we will leave it on track!

- QUESTION -
Recently we know the big news in Draco home: the Draco Junior Team. How this new challenge was born and what are your expectations?

- N.M. -
We want to create drivers in our image and likeness before they get to the World Series 3.5. I know that may sound as a very strong sentence, because applied in a religious context, but it is the only one that gives me the opportunity to tell you the true motivation of this new team. Not for money because the project didn't do this, but for what I have expressed with a strong phrase before. It is a beautiful challenge, and I am sure that we will have great satisfactions.

- QUESTION -
What do you think about the 2009 World Series championship's changes? I refer to the cancellation of collective test on Thursday, the duration of the two races stretched to 50 minutes, the additional point for the driver with the best comeback in every race. Do you think these changes are important? What changes do you think that the championship has still to do?

- N.M. -
With regard to the cancellation of the tests on Thursday I think it is a good change. I understand if it is a category to "drivers breeding", but this is a category that sends its drivers in F.1. If a driver needs to drive a whole week he is not ready to stay in the 3.5. I agree about the duration of the races, I think that after 2009-2010, after this very critical time of economic crisis, we can extend the lenght of the race to 35-40 laps for each race, removing one of the Friday tests, we can have two Qualifying, one for each race and not the Superpole. But this is only my idea of how I see the competition. I think it is right the addition point because when a driver does his best he should be rewarded. These changes are certainly important. Renault works with the help of RPM on a journey to meet young people, perhaps the first to realize that the world of F.1 is changing. Renault is a great Car manufacturer and it works for young people, creating cars designed for them, with particular attention to the environment, to price, space, colors, advertising... Renault thinks of the families and we see it every weekend when Renault organizes party and games for the events. All this is expensive but there is the possibility to free entry and to see a beautiful spectacle and this is certainly very important. Renault supports this hard championship despite the difficulties of the moment.

I also have other ideas for further improvement of the championship, but I don't say them for the moment ... Goodbye to the next interview!
