Fourth and Fifth places for Monteiro at Lausitz
The World Series by Nissan races were held today at the German Circuit of Lausitz, where Tiago Monteiro is the only Portuguese Driver present. The Driver from O'Porto started both races on the front row of the starting grid (second position) nevertheless, he would eventually finish on Fourth and Fifth place.
Even though he started upfront, both races represented a hard task for Tiago Monteiro: "At the first race, in the morning, the first gear got stuck as we started, which made me loose some positions and the opportunity to fight for the lead" stated the Driver from Carlin Motorsport who managed a good start for the second race, which would reveal itself insufficient due to some brake pedal problems.
"At the beginning of the afternoon, at the second race, I made a good start and maintained my position up to the pit-stop, where I would regrettably loose one place. I immediately noticed that I had some brake pedal problems. Nevertheless, I strived to maintain the third position up to the end, but it was simply impossible to control the car and I ended up crossing the line in fifth position" explained Tiago Monteiro, whom was satisfied with his work but knew that he had what it took to finish both races on the podium.
"It wasn't the best weekend, but when you race you have to know how to handle these situations" concluded Monteiro which saw the Fin Heikki Kovalainen win both races at Lausitz.
