The young man from Montelimar came away from Silverstone with nothing to show for all his effort and gritty determination. Charles Pic had started the British leg of the World Series by Renault well enough, clocking the 2nd fastest time in the third session and coming 4th overall in open practice. Then he picked up the 5th fastest time in group B and qualified for the Superpole. But he couldn't make it into the Top 8 and had to settle for 12th on the grid for race 1. After a lacklustre start, the recent Monaco winner had to make do with a modest 15th spot at the finish. On Sunday, a radio transmission fault meant that Charles was unaware that team-mate Julien Jousse was already in the pits when he came in for a tyre change, so he lost 15 seconds and came home 13th, but he managed to clock the second fastest lap.
See you all in Budapest next July 5-6!
