FIRST ROW FOR LUCA FILIPPI AND TONI VILANDER: THE "YOUNG GUNS" PREVIEW A VERY HARD RACE
IMOLA - Luca Filippi, the Fisichella Motor Sport Italian driver, will start from pole position in Imola in the 4th round of Italian F. 3000 Trophy.
Filippi scored the best time in the morning session and decided to maintain one new set of tyres for tomorrow race: "Imola gives me a particular feeling: the Italian F. 3000 Trophy is a high competitive championship and I want to demonstrate my talent with a start-to-finish leading race. I don't feel under pressure and I think that new tyres will give me a good advantage in the first few laps."
In the Light Class, Stefano Gattuso set the best time ahead of Giuseppe Strano and Riccardo Mari. The gap between Gattuso and Strano is less than two tenth: "The race will be very hard - told Gattuso - and I will try to preserve my tyres in the first part of the race in order to maintain a good performance in the last laps."
Toni Vilander (Astromega Racing) and Raffaele Giammaria (BCN Competicion) will start respectively in 2nd and 3rd position. Giammaria spent the afternoon session for setting-up the car in race condition as well as Vilander: "In Brno we had some problem on the car: now my Lola B02/50 - Zytek is performing well and I am very confident for the race. As the first three race demonstrated, the race will be very tough and the Imola spectators will see many change of position.
