Good performance for DAMS drivers despite hectic free session for Lapierre.
This morning free session was frustrating for Nicolas as his gearbox stuck in 4th gear due to an unusual hydraulic failure. Kazuki showed he would fight for front rows with a 3rd place. Qualifying went well for him, as he took the 4th place overall under chequered flag. Despite nearly no track time in the free session, Nicolas Lapierre drove superbly and will start from the 10th position for the long race tomorrow.
Kazuki Nakajima: "It was a good day for me; the car balance was good both sessions. I am happy with the qualifying results, even if I feel a bit frustrated because of the traffic and many yellow flags. We need to think about the tyres strategy for the race, but we recently showed that we have a good race pace so it should be good for tomorrow."
Nicolas Lapierre: "Qualifying result is satisfying, bearing in mind my problems from this morning. We should do a step forward tomorrow during the race, with the objective to take as many points as possible. We then also hope to end the weekend by a good result on Sunday"
