Esteban Gutierrez Initiates the Pre-Season On the Right Foot

Estoril, Portugal -- March 18th, 2009 -- Young driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez finished successfully the first official training day of the F3 Euroseries. Today, 28 drivers hit the track of the Circuito do Estoril for the first training day of the season. There are still four drivers that will be announced by their respective teams in the next weeks.

Gutierrez was able to practice what he has learned about technical, mechanical and driving aspects of the Formula 3 car. Also, it was a test for all the physical and mental preparation the Mexican driver has been doing for the last three months. Esteban felt good both physical and mentally. It is just a matter of time for him to get used to the car, the team and everything around him in this new challenge called the Formula 3 Euroseries.

The second day of training will continue tomorrow (today), March 19th, at 9:00 a.m. (Local time).

"It was a very good day for us as we had plenty of time to go through our program. This morning we mostly focused on learning the track and getting used to the car after three months away. During the afternoon we started developing the technical side of the car and by the end of the day we had covered our program without any incidents. This was the first training day of the pre-season and it will be very important to keep the car on the track to take advantage of the few days that we will have before the season begins. We will continue working hard to put Mexico's name on the top", Esteban Gutierrez commented.
