Qualifying 1.
No sooner had he regained his bearings in FR V6 than José Maria Lopez
(Dams) stormed to the top of the grid. The Argentinean was the man to
beat in qualifying for Saturday's Grand Race, snatching the number one
spot from his team mate Jani a contender for the 2004 championship

Robert Bell (David Price Racing), taking fourth right at the end of
the session. Mondini (9th) will have his work cut out to catch the
leaders, as will his main rival Sharp (Jenzer Motorsport), starting in

fifth ahead of Belicchi, one of his championship rivals, with Mondini
seemingly in difficulty for the first time this year. It was a nightmare
session for Montanari, while Bell
