Caldarelli takes podium finish at Spa-Francorchamps
Andrea Caldarelli faced tough weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, in an attempt to reverse the difficult Portuguese experience suffered at Estoril. The Italian found much more confidence in the Belgian round of the Formula Renault West European Cup (WEC), as well as a really competitive and reliable racecar, clinching two podium finishes despite the bad weather and temperature condition in all the three days. The TDP (Toyota Driver Program) pilot kept control on Race 1, staying at the top all-day long and trailing team-mate Daniel Ricciardo until the final corner. Tire temperature was a constant issue, and Andrea managed to avoid mistakes on Race 2 and too once again third spot, adding another trophy to his successful 2008 season. Daniel Ricciardo is currently the standing leader with 148 points, followed by Mehri (135), Caldarelli (79), Vergne (68) and Vautier (55).
