Brabham to head home?
Australian international and former IMSA and CAN-AM champ Geoff Brabham is the hot tip to replace defending Aussie 2 litre champion Tony Longhurst in the Australian BMW works team for next years Manufacturers title for Super Touring BTCC-style cars.
Brabham has expressed a desire to return home after over a decade away and recently purchased a home on Queenslands Gold Coast where the BMW team is based.
Also an article in this weeks Aust. Auto Action claims that reigning Bathurst winner John Bowe may be heading a local Ford entry in next years series in a Rouse built Mondeo.
This year's series, the first, struggled with small fields and poor crowd turnouts. A situation not helped by the decision of local television channel NINE to screen the races at 6.30 am Saturdays.
Defending champ Longhurst has left the series and will run a new V8 Falcon in the ATCC with sponsorship from Castrol. -- Brett Ramsey
