Lo Ka Fai wins exciting race as Siu Kin-Ching drops out
778 Autosport driver Lo Ka Fai wins the first round of HTCC 1600cc (Group B) after an exciting battle with Fusion Racing's Siu Kin-Ching.
Siu Kin-Ching took the lead from pole-sitter Lo Ka Fai at the start and the two engaged in a battle that had the spectators at the edge of their seats until Siu Kin-Ching, or Large Siu, as he is affectionately known by his fans, dropped out with 2 laps to go.
Siu Kin-Ching had set the fastest lap of the race on lap 2 with a 1 minute 54.011 seconds. Only Ka Fai came close with a 1 minute 54.094.
2003 Macau Cup 1st runners' up Ka Fai said, 'It would be difficult to tell who wins this race if Siu Kin-Ching didn't drop out.' Ka Fai finished the race in 19 minutes 20.159 seconds.
Second place was taken by Chung Wai-Hang. Cheung Chi-Shing took third place despite a spin at T4. He recovered to take third place after Siu Kin-Ching and Lo Hung-Pui both dropped out.
Round 4 of the championship will be held at 10:00am tomorrow. (16 May 2004).
