Pearson ready to put on a show at Donington Park, round 5 rreview.

European Clio Cup entrant, Rick Pearson is aiming to put on a show for his home fans at Donington Park this Saturday as the Eurosport Super Racing Weekend makes its only stop of the season at a British circuit.

Pearson will be making his third appearance of the year in the series, following early-season outings at Barcelona and Magny-Cours. Although the former UK Clio Cup race-winner will pilot his regular 2.0-litre Clio for German team, Sesterheim Motorsport, Pearson and his sponsors, Stand 21, have created a distinctly British image for the event.

"As this is the only race of the year on British soil, and I'm the only British driver in the European Clio Cup, Stand 21 thought it only fitting to honour the occasion with something extra special in the way of race attire," Pearson commented. "All I can say is that I'm confident I'll be the best dressed driver in the paddock!"

The roof of the number 29 Clio has also been decorated with a Union Jack flag, helping race-goers to spot Pearson on the huge Clio Cup grid. He said:" I'm really looking forward to racing at Donington Park again. It's a circuit I know well and I've enjoyed good results there in the past.

"My team, Sesterheim Motorsport are doing an excellent job and the car should be easy to spot with its Union Jack roof so I'll be expecting plenty of home support at the first corner."

Qualifying for round five of the Clio Cup will take place on Saturday morning, with the race itself scheduled for an early evening start.
