Superstars: Thomas Biagi statement
CONTRACT RENEWED BETWEEN THE REIGNING CHAMPION THOMAS BIAGI AND BMW TEAM ITALY FOR THE SUPERSTARS SERIES 2011
BMW Team Italy decided the drivers that will be taking part in the Superstars Series 2011 at the wheel of the three official BMW M3. After a 2010 full of success, that took Thomas Biagi to win the International and Italian titles with the team led by Roberto Ravaglia, he will defend the colors of the same team in 2011, together with Stefano Gabellini and the rookie Alberto Cerqui.
Biagi, 34 years, obtained in 2010 with the team the Italian and International titles thanks to eight podiums, two victories and three pole positions. Two FIA GT1 titles obtained in 2003 and 2007 as well as several experiences as Formula 1 tester shine in his cv.
Thomas Biagi:
"Racing with Team BMW Italy in 2010 was a dream come true for me and
continuing this in 2011 too is great. The feeling with the team, the best
I have raced for in my career, is perfect and this is an advantage with
respect to last year when we started from scratch. We are all aware that
Superstars is a growing championship and to be on top we will have to
work even harder than what done last year; we are well motivated in doing
so, the experience of Roberto Ravaglia and Umberto Grano has anyway a
unique added value within the team and I am extremely honored to work at
their side".
