FABCAR announces 2003 Daytona Prototype support

CARMEL, Ind. (September 4, 2002) -- FABCAR Engineering, Inc. recently announced plans to provide engineering and technical support for its FDSC/03 Daytona Prototypes at all the 2003 Rolex Sports Car Series races. Customers will also receive factory support at test sessions upon their request, according to FABCAR owner Dave Klym.

"We are continually seeking feedback from our customers in order to make a better product. With our 25 years of experience in many different types of racing, we have found that customer support is vital to our success," noted Klym. "As in the past, we will continue to support our customers as long as the series is running."

In addition to technical support, FABCAR will have a Parts Support Program, which will be at all of the races as well. "FABCAR provides a complete illustrated parts manual and price list for our customers," added Klym.

"We will be supporting different teams and engine manufacturers," he noted. "In addition to Porsche, we will have at least one more engine package running at the 2003 Rolex 24 At Daytona."

The price of a FDSC/03 is set at $300,000, plus the cost of the engine, engine ancillaries, gearbox and data acquisition system. "The additional costs vary according to the engine and gearbox manufacturers and the options selected by the customer," Klym explained.

Chassis 001 and 002 are nearing completion, with the gearboxes expected to arrive in mid-September. Testing for the Porsche-powered cars is scheduled for early November at Daytona International Speedway. A 24-hour test is scheduled for early December.
