Master Motorsport team finishes in sixth place despite experiencing engine problems
Surrey race ace Aaron Scott (www.aaronscott.co.uk) and his Master Motorsport team mate Steven Brady, were at Castle Combe for round 6 of the British GT Championship last weekend (June 21-22).
A season's best field of 25 cars greeted the teams at the popular Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire, where crowds reached in excess of 20,000. Aaron qualified the car in 10th place on Saturday ready for Sunday's 60 minute race.
Steven started the race and drove for the first 20 minutes before handing over to Aaron, after a tough and eventful race, which saw a safety car period and a race stoppage Aaron finished the race in 6th position. Securing a further helping of points for the Omnico backed team.
Aaron Scott said, "This was the toughest race of the year for us, we had overheating problems with the engine and so we had to nurse the car to the flag. The team worked very hard and did a fantastic job. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a mix-up with the results in the race stoppage and we should really have finished 4th. Nevertheless, the points are good for the Championship. We have a new engine on the way for the next round at Oulton Park and we need that to keep us moving up the table and challenging for the podium finishes."
The next round of the British GT Championship takes place at Oulton Park on July 13.
