Texaco to sponsor Simon Pullan and Rollcentre Racing in 2002 British GT
Global energy company, Texaco will sponsor Simon Pullan and Rollcentre Racing's bid for the 2002 British GT Championship GTO Class crown.
"'I'm ecstatic that Texaco are on board for this year," Pullan said. "To be involved with such a huge company is just what I needed. I have every faith that together, we will go very far. This deal has given me a fantastic boost at the start of the season and I'm now raring to go."
Texaco is the fourth largest petrol retailer in Britain with almost one thousand Texaco branded service stations in the UK and a network of over five hundred authorised and equity fuel distributors. The company and its affiliates find, develop and produce petroleum and natural gas; manufacture and market fuel and lubricant products; trade, transport and distribute petroleum and gas products.
The newly-liveried Texaco Rollcentre Racing TVR Tuscan R had its first outing at Silverstone last week. After almost two days of trouble free wet and dry running, Pullan and team boss, Martin Short are on course for this weekend's season opener at Brands Hatch.
"The Brands Grand Prix circuit is one of the best tracks in the country," Pullan commented. "Martin and Rob Barff won at Brands Hatch in the Tuscan R last season so we're all hoping to repeat that on Easter Monday."
Round one of the British GT Championship will take place over a three-day race weekend, 30/31 March - 1 April.
