PacWest Toronto qualifying notes
MARIO DOMINGUEZ - ...
MARIO DOMINGUEZ - # 17 DEL VALLE CORONA TELEVISA PACWEST LIGHTS
"I thought I could get the pole but I couldn't get enough grip on my last run to make it happen," said Dominguez. "My car is behaving a little better over the bumps and running high downforce is much better and quicker than low. Having raced here in 1999 will help me tomorrow. As far as my qualifying run is concerned, my crew improved my car a lot between sessions, which helped me improve my times. Starting on the front row is not bad and hopefully we can put on a good show for everyone Sunday."
DAN WHELDON - # 1 GEMSTAR PACWEST LIGHTS
"My car was very good for qualifying, unfortunately the driver inside was not so good," said Wheldon. "I made some crucial mistakes during stages where I needed a perfect lap. Basically, I drove like a rookie today. I was able to get some pretty clean runs out there, just not on my last lap - where I needed it. I still think I'm in a good position for the race."
