NAOKI HATTORI TO START FROM THE SIXTH ROW AT NAZARETH
NAZARETH, Pa., April 24 - Brazil's Cristiano da Matta won the pole for the start of tomorrow's race at 3:00 p.m. EDT at the Nazareth Speedway, site for Round 3 of the PPG-Dayton Indy Lights Championship.
Da Matta qualified with a lap-time of 22.408 seconds at 151.981 mph. He was two-tenths faster than Spaniard Oriol Servia, who lapped at 22.663 seconds (150.271 mph). Philipp Peter of Austria was third fastest with a time of 22.673 seconds (150.206 mph).
Team KOOL Green driver Naoki Hattori moved up four positions from yesterday's practice session to qualify 12th. He turned a lap of 22.891 seconds at 148.775 mph. Hattori finished third at the last race in Long Beach.
Naoki Hattori, #27 Team KOOL Green: (12th in Qualifying: 22.891 seconds at 148.775 mph)
"Our qualifyng setup was the same one we had used for this morning's practice session, which I liked. The first lap was okay, but I thought I could go faster and was really trying hard on my second lap. I went too fast into turn 3 and had to wait to get back on the accelerator, which slowed me down. It was my mistake."
