CROWN ROYAL IROC SERIES PIT NOTES
FORT WORTH (April 15, 2005) -- Bobby Hamilton worked hard in the final practice session for the Crown Royal International Race of Champions. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck champion jumped from practice car to practice car, putting in lap after lap, getting a feel for any nuance among the four dedicated cars for driver practice.
"I got to drive three different cars in the final practice and I was happy with all of them. This is only my second time driving the IROC cars. I ran Daytona had a good time there, and a good finish. I expect to have a good time here as well."
An earlier on track session consisted of NASCAR drivers, Martin Truex Jr., Mark Martin, and reigning Crown Royal IROC champion, Matt Kenseth. Hamilton was joined by Grand American Road Racing co-champions, Scott Pruett, and Max Papis, IndyCar Series drivers, Buddy Rice and Helio Castroneves, and Steve Kinser from the World of Outlaws.
As for running with the non-NASCAR contingent, Hamilton said, "They all did great out there. Honestly, I couldn't tell you who was in what car."
Race two of the Crown Royal IROC Series will take the green flag at Texas Motor Speedway at 6:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on SPEED Channel at 8:00 p.m. ET.
