Torrential rain and tornado warnings on Friday forced Florida Winter Tour officials to postpone a large portion of the schedule to Saturday, setting up a full day of heat racing action at the Sofina Foods Florida Winter Tour presented by FIKSE Wheels.

Thankfully Mother Nature returned to the sunshine state as 171 drivers across seven categories completed three rounds of heat races in much warmer and ideal conditions at Homestead Karting facility.

Costa Rican driver Danny Formal bested polesitter Rubens Barrichello and the rest of the ROK Shifter category in all three heats of the premier class, positioning him on the pole position for Sunday.

Other drivers to sweep the heat races were Derek Carmenate in the 41-strong Mini ROK class as well as Kyle Kirkwood in ROK Senior.

The other drivers to top the charts after the heat races included Canadian Antonio Serravalle in ROK Junior, Kyle Kirkwood in ROK Senior, Lucas Rodriguez in Micro ROK and Brazilian Raphael Matos in ROK Masters.

All classes will complete a Pre-Final and Final race on Saturday to determine the first round race winners.
