Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Saturday class wrap up

Marcelli, Rago, Pelletier, Gibson, and de Hues take wins at Mosport

MOSPORT, ONTARIO The fifth round of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels got off to a good start with some good racing on Saturday. Kyle Marcelli took the win in the feature class, Formula Junior. Other winners on the day were Vincent Rago in Canada Junior Light, who also took home the GM Winners circle award for Saturday's action. Maxime Pelletier won in Rotax Max Jr., Dylan Gibson in World Formula Jr., and Aaron de Heus in Canada Senior.

Formula Junior
Cameron Motorsports CRG driver Kyle Marcelli took the first Pfaff Fast Qualifier of the day. Marcelli went on win ahead of firstkart.com driver David Ostella. Third went to Cameron Motorsports driver Mike Vincec. Marcelli has had a late season charge, and the final round at Innisfil in a few weeks should be an action packed race for the title.

Rotax Max Junior
Brad Forbes brought Sodi Kart its first Pfaff Fast Qualifier of the day, when he took the pole for Rotax Max Junior. Forbes would drop to fourth in the final, while Cameron Motorsports driver Maxime Pelletier took the win. Pelletier was fresh off a plane from Valencia Spain, where he was competing in the Formula BMW Scholarship program. Pelletier was followed home by Gold Kart's Cory Luciano and SH Karting's Raphael Ranger in third.

Canada Junior Light
Courtice Ontario's Mike Adams steered his MBA to the Pfaff Motors fast qualifier award in Canada Junior Light. Adams however was at the wrong end of the five kart train that crossed the line at the checkered flag. Leading that group was Vincent Rago in his Gold Kart. He was followed by Gold Kart's Reid Arnold and Birel's Andrew Waring.

World Formula Junior
TrackMagic driver Dylan Gibson did the double by taking the Pfaff Fast Qualifier award, and then going on to win in World Formula Junior. Behind Gibson came CRG's Wes Calaguiro and Team Hurricane's William Keatings

Canada Senior
Gold Kart's Pearce Herder took it to the established veterans by taking the Pfaff Fast Qualifier award and then nearly won, finishing second by 2.1 seconds behind fellow Gold Kart driver Aaron de Heus. Pickering's Mike Rogers finished behind de Heus and Herder in third.

The GM Winners Circle award for outstanding skills and sportsmanship went to the Toronto Kart Club's Vincent Rago, from Toronto, Ontario.

The objective of the SRFKC is to help foster a professional environment for kart drivers; help create a positive attitude towards appearance, conduct and discipline; help foster the employment of the best practices for the safe and fair running of competitions; and help kart drivers to move up the racing ladder to automobile racing.
