WKA Updates Mid-Season Tire Changes In Gold Cup And Pavement Series

07.08.2008 -- This is an update to the June 11th announcement of changes to the Horstman Gold Cup and Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series Spec Tire Programs.

In the Horstman Gold Cup Series use of Dunlop 4:50 x 5" DCM tires in the Junior classes has been extended through the August 1st to 3rd event at Circleville. This means that both the Dunlop DCM and DDM tires are approved in that size. There is an adequate supply of the Dunlop DCM tires in the 6:00 x 5" size to last through Circleville and possibly through the last Gold Cup race at Lowe's WKA will continue to monitor tire availability.

For the Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series event at OCR July 11 to 13 the Firestone YGF tires will be the only legal 8:00 x 6" tire. The YKF 8:00 x 6" tires will be legal at the August 22 to 24 Pavement Series event at Chapel Hill. The YGF 8:00 x 6" tires will also be legal. As announced June 11, both the YGF and YKF 5:00 x 6" will be legal for rest of year in that size.
