ARDC Return To Evergreen Rained Out
St. John's, Pa., June 7 - The American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) CARQUEST Midget Series' return to Evergreen Raceway was spoiled by rain showers on Sunday afternoon but the Evergreen Raceway Officials have rescheduled the Midgets for Saturday, August 1. Although the ARDC Midget competitors have been looking forward to racing at Evergreen this season and will now have to wait until August, another much anticipated event is up next on the ARDC CARQUEST Midget Series schedule - the co-sanctioned ARDC/NEMA Mini-Indy race, being held at Flemington Speedway on Saturday, June 20.
Ed Stimely Jr. of McVeytown, Pa. is the defending ARDC CARQUEST Champion. In all, there have been five different winners in five ARDC races so far in this 1998 season. Stimely won at Port Royal Speedway while Walt Stearly, John Heydenreich, Tim Dietz and Rudy Botticher were feature winners at the other ARDC races this season.
