Deleware Final Qualifier results

LONDON, ON - In the late stages of Friday night's second 100 lap Sprint race to set the field for Sunday's 'Great Canadian Race', Robbie Thompson was caught up in an accident that saw him climb the outside wall of Delaware Speedway, causing considerable damage to his Logel's Intrepid. But on Saturday afternoon - after a long night spent repairing his racecar - Thompson bounced back with a win in the 25-lap Final Qualifier race for the Castrol Super Series cars.

With the victory, the rookie of the year candidate secured his spot in the starting field for Sunday afternoon's 300-lap race at the half-mile oval. A total of 41 drivers will take the green flag for the 'Great Canadian Race'; the season-ending event for the Castrol Super Series. Dave Whitlock will start on the pole, alongside of Peter Gibbons. Points leader Don Thomson will line up on the outside of the second row and needs only to avoid a disaster to secure his first Castrol Cup. <pre>
