Wind Tunnel Testing

There will be wind tunnel test performed on 4 of the cars that ran in Atlanta. The four that were taken were Dale Jarrett, Morgan Shephard, Terry Labonte and Jeff Gordon. The reason for this is the company that does all the wind tunnel test is based in Marietta.

Dale Jarrett Domination

Dale Jarrett cruised to victory in the Primestar 500 in Atlanta yesterday despite ignition box failure and an engine that seemed to backfire in both turns. The win marks the end of a string of near misses for Jarrett. Team mate Ernie Irvan put an exclamation point on the Ford domination by finishing second. Morgan Shephard put his exceptionally handling Pontiac in the 3rd spot.

Steve Grissom's crash

In the wake of yesterday's crash, there were conflicting reports as to the extent of Grissom's injuries. It was first thought that he had a broken ankle. Reports later confirmed that he had only bruised it. The crash is a continuing example of the safety standards of not only the Kodiak Team but of NASCAR in general. Remember not that long ago NASCAR fined several teams for not having the roll cage bars thick enough? This is the reason why they are so strict.

Jeff Gordon's Engine Troubles

You could almost feel it coming and if you were at the track during happy hour, the engine trouble that Gordon had was a string of problems that the Hendrick team experienced all weekend. One of the strongest cars I timed, Gordon reported a late practice vibration that we called, ".not a tire vibration but an engine vibration." They came in and 5 minutes later they reported the vibration as being fixed. Another problem came late in practice when Terry Labonte a Hendrick Team mate as well experienced a thrown rod. He did not return to practice.
