NOTES OF INTEREST: Jeff Gordon is the defending; champion of the Food City 500 at Bristol International Raceway. Mark Martin set the NASCAR Winston Cup qualifying record of 125.093 mph in August, 1995 at BIR. Charlie Glotzbach holds the 266.5 mile race record of 101.074 mph set in 1971 at BIR.
