Chicagoland: Bill Elliott qualifying rain notes

Thunderstorms Cancel Qualifying in Chicagoland; Wood Brothers Racing no. 21 To Start 37th

Joliet, IL (July 10, 2008)-Wood Brothers Racing no. 21 U.S. Air Force Ford Fusion and driver Bill Elliott will start 37th in LifeLock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday, July 12, 2008.

As dark ominous clouds rolled into the Joliet, IL area with the threat of severe thunderstorms, NASCAR cancelled qualifying and set the field according to its rule book which put Elliott in the 37th starting position based on his past champion status.

Since the inaugural race at Chicagoland Speedway in 2001, Bill Elliott has had two top 10 finishes while the Wood Brothers had a top 10 finish with Ricky Rudd in 2005. The 21 Team and Bill Elliott will have the opportunity to "dial-in" the race set up of the U.S Air Force Ford Fusion during two Friday evening practices in preparation for the race event on Saturday night.
