Ernie Irvan's Dover Downs International Highlights...
* "M&M's" Racing Team driver Ernie Irvan has two pole positions at Dover Downs International Speedway. Irvan picked up his first pole position in June of 1993 and followed up that performance in June of the following year with another top starting spot.
* The "M&M's" Racing Team has a solid shot at finishing in the top 10at Dover Downs. Irvan has three top-10 finishes in his last three starts at the 'Monster Mile,' including two with the "M&M's" Racing Team. Irvan finished ninth in the fall of 1997, ninth in the spring of 1998 and eighth in the fall of last year. He has a total of eight top-10 finishes at the track, including four top fives in the spring.
* Spring has been Irvan's season to shine at the high-banked, concrete oval. All four of Irvan's top-five finishes came in the spring, as well as two top-10 performances.
* "M&M's" driver Ernie Irvan had his best performance at Dover in the spring of 1994 when he started first and finished second in the 500-lap event.
Ernie Irvan's thoughts on racing at Dover Downs International... "Dover Downs is a tough race track. The track didn't get the nickname 'The Monster Mile' by chance. But the "M&M's" Pontiac is going to be ready. Every time we go there we know it is 400 miles of tight racing. It takes a lot of concentration to race at Dover because it is a lot like a big Bristol with its banked turns and straight a ways. For the last couple of years Dover has been a great place for me. I think I have three straight top-10 finishes, including one with the "M&M's" Team."
