JUMBOTRONS ARE BACK FOR RACE WEEK AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY
FORT WORTH-DALLAS (March 17, 1999) -- Race fans attending the PRIMESTAR 500 race week at Texas Motor Speedway will be happy to see the return of the Jumbotrons.
"That was the number one issue with our fans," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "We listened and we're giving them what they asked for." StadiNet Racing will be providing the SONY Jumbotrons for race week activities at Texas. The company provides Jumbotrons to all Speedway Motorsports, Inc. facilities for major racing events including NASCAR Winston Cup, Busch, and Craftsman Truck series as well as Pep Boys Indy Racing League races. Currently, there are plans for two of the 18' x 24' screens to be placed in turn one and turn four facing the frontstretch grandstands. StadiaNet not only provides video of the race, the company also provides sponsors with the opportunity to reach race fans. "We have several national sponsors who are on the Jumbotrons at each event we go to," said StadiaNet CEO Mike Henry. "Certainly, we have opportunities for additional sponsors -- local or national -- that would want to be on the big screens at Texas. We'll make a decision whether to add one or two more Jumbotrons based on the additional sponsors we might get before next week's race." Texas Motor Speedway is the latest venue for StadiaNet, but the company is no stranger to the Lone Star State, having provided Jumbotrons for the University of Texas and Texas A & M football games since 1996.
