ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (April 11, 2001) - Herzog Motorsports announced today the release of driver Toby Porter. Porter was signed to a one-year agreement with several option years in December of 2000.

"We had a few differences on certain priorities which we could not agree on 100 percent," stated Herzog Motorsports co-owner Stan Herzog. "We feel like we have too much potential as a team, and Toby has too much potential as a driver not to be totally on the same page." "We regret that things did not work out with Toby, but we certainly wish him the best in his future endeavors," continued Stan Herzog. "We will begin the search for his replacement immediately."

Herzog Motorsports is a successful, championship-winning race team. Based in St. Joseph, Mo., Charlotte, N.C., and Milwaukee, Wis., Herzog Motorsports fields teams in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division and the American Speed Association (ASA) Series.
