Stacy Compton Evergreen Preview

Seattle, Wash. -Stacy Compton meets Hank Hill this weekend at Evergreen Speedway for the 100th race of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the NAPACARD 200 this Saturday on ESPN. Compton's No. 86 RC Dodge Ram will feature the animated characters of the popular FOX-TV show, in conjunction with the nationwide 'King of the Hill' / RC contest.

Compton, a late model champion and NASCAR's "Most Popular Driver" of the 1998 NCTS season has thrilled race fans with his talents since his go-kart days and is honored to bring Hank Hill's family and friends to race fans throughout America.

"Hank Hill is a race fan," noted Compton. "He enjoys nothing better than a NASCAR Craftsman truck race and a cold RC. This will be a great weekend for fans and for the team. We are going to have fun with this King of the Hill truck here in Seattle.

"RC is putting together some really neat promotions this year, including the King of the Hill truck which will compete here in Seattle, Bakersfield and Martinsville," continued Compton. " In Texas, we will run the Little League Baseball/RC Dodge. RC is the official soft-drink for Little League and we are gaining a lot of fans with that association."

Team RC finished third in the season opener at Miami-Homestead on March 20, leading the first lap of the 1999 NCTS season when Compton took the front position in turn one at the two-mile oval.

Last week, the No. 86 RC Dodge qualified sixth and finished fourth at Phoenix International Raceway. Compton is currently in second place in the NCTS point standings, trailing Ron Hornaday by 20 points (350-320).

Compton finished fourth here last season at Evergreen Speedway and he picked up an eighth place finish in 1997. "This track reminds me of North Wilkesboro back home," Compton said. "It's a tough half-mile track that is hard on tires. We'll be there in the end when it counts."

One thing is for sure, Hank, Bobby and Peggy Hill are along for the ride and it looks like it will be a great one!
