ELDER FASTEST ON FINAL DAY OF NASCAR GOODY'S DASH SERIES TEST AT DAYTONA

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Christian Elder of Minneapolis, Minn., turned in the fastest speed as NASCAR Goody's Dash Series teams concluded a two-day test Sunday at Daytona International Speedway in preparation for the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series season-opening Discount Auto Parts 200 Presented By ACDelco Rapidfire scheduled for Feb. 13.

Elder was clocked at 54.892 seconds, for an average speed of 163.958 mph in his No. 21 Pontiac Sunfire.

Ford NASCAR Winston Cup teams begin their final three-day pre-season test tomorrow. A section of the Oldfield Grandstand is open daily at no charge from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with access through DAYTONA USA, "The Ultimate Motorsports Attraction." Guided tours of the Speedway are also available from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a nominal fee.
