GARRETT EVANS WINS BUD POLE AT WVSO
EAST WENATCHEE, Wash. (July 1, 2006) -- Garrett Evans in his No. 64 Leonard Evans Hyundai/Signature Finance Chevrolet won the Bud Pole Award at the Holiday Inn Express 125, a NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series event at Wenatchee Valley's Super Oval in East Wenatchee, Wash.
Evans, of East Wenatchee, Wash., posted a lap time of 12.875 seconds which translates to 69.903 mph on the 1/4-mile oval. It was his first Bud Pole of the season and a series record 64th of his 22-year Northwest Series career. It was also his 10th career pole at WVSO, also a series record.
Shane Mitchell was second fastest with a time of 12.949 seconds (69.503 mph). Troy Tramell, Mike Longton and Darren Rupinski rounded out the top five qualifiers.
The full field of 26 cars is scheduled to take the green flag at approximately 9:00 p.m. PDT.
