COMMERCE, Ga. (May 6, 2006) -- After qualifying No. 1 at last weekend's Bristol, Tenn. event, Jason Line follow up by qualifying No. 3 at this weekend's 26th annual NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals presented by Pontiac at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga.
Line, from Wright, Minn., who now lives in North Carolina, drove his KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment-backed Pro Stock Pontiac GTO to a best elapsed time of 6.724 seconds.
"We're okay with number three, although it could have been better," said Line following qualifying. "Greg (Anderson, teammate) and I are on the opposite side of the ladder, so maybe, if everything goes right, we'll meet in the final round like we did last weekend in Bristol. We'll get it together for tomorrow."
In tomorrow's eliminations, Line will be matched against Dave Connolly, who qualified No. 14 with an elapsed time of 6.748 seconds.
Line, who is currently No. 2 in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock point standings, begins his quest for the Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals presented by Pontiac Pro Stock title on Sunday, May 7, with eliminations for all classes beginning at 11 a.m. All times are local Atlanta time (ET) and subject to change at anytime.
