KEYSTONE AUTOMOTIVE OPERATIONS JOINS DON SCHUMACHER RACING AS ASSOCIATE SPONSOR
INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 25, 2006) - Keystone Automotive Operations, North America's largest distributor and marketer of specialty automotive parts, has partnered with Don Schumacher Racing as an associate sponsor on all nine DSR teams for the 2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
"We are honored to have been selected as Keystone Automotive's new NHRA marketing partner," said team owner Don Schumacher. "Keystone Automotive has a longstanding and successful championship history with Joe Amato Racing. Joe has won numerous national-event and world-championship titles with them and we look forward to having Joe join us from time to time at the 2006 NHRA events. We at Don Schumacher Racing are seriously focused on adding more wins and championships to the Keystone Automotive record book."
Keystone Automotive's President and Chief Executive Officer, Bob Vor Broker, added: "Everyone at Keystone Automotive is excited about our new motorsports partnership with Don Schumacher Racing. Keystone Automotive has been identified with three decades of championship performance in NHRA drag racing and we feel that we will proudly continue that tradition in 2006 by helping to support the outstanding Don Schumacher Racing organization."
Keystone Automotive's major identification will appear on Tony Schumacher's reigning NHRA championship U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster, with additional logos on the other Don Schumacher Racing vehicles, as well as all show vehicles, transporters, technology trailers and hospitality vehicles.
"I'm happy that Keystone Automotive Operations decided to partner with DSR, while also holding a prominent spot on the world-championship-winning U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster," said three-time Top Fuel titlist Tony Schumacher. "Hopefully, they will enjoy the ride in 2006.
"I find it interesting that Keystone Automotive is coming on board in a season when I can possibly tie Joe Amato for the most consecutive Top Fuel world titles. Of course, Joe and Keystone have a long and storied history together."
Don Schumacher Racing, the largest team in NHRA pro competition, includes nine professional NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series teams: The U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster driven by Tony Schumacher; the Skull Gear/Torco Race Fuels Top Fuel dragster steered by Melanie Troxel; the Matco Tools Iron Eagle Dodge Funny Car of Whit Bazemore; the Mopar/Oakley Dodge Funny Car piloted by Gary Scelzi; the Brut Dodge driven by Ron Capps; two U.S. Army Pro Stock Motorcycles for Angelle Sampey and Antron Brown; and two Pro Stock cars: the Team Mopar/Valspar Dodge Stratus driven by Richie Stevens Jr., and a second team/driver to be named.
