Herbert Poised to Go Rounds and Take Home Win
POMONA, Calif. (February 9, 2008) After four rounds of qualifying action, Doug Herbert and the SnaponFranchise.com Top Fuel team sit poised and ready to go rounds and win the first race of his "For My Boys" Tour.
Herbert’s fastest pass of the weekend, a solid 4.54 second run at 327.98 mph, put the veteran driver in the No. 11 position.
"The four runs we have made over the past few days have taught us a lot about this race car," said Herbert, "and now we are going to put what we have learned to good use during eliminations.
"There are a ton of reasons to go out here and take home a win; one to be able to dedicate a trophy to my boys, and another to start gaining points and making our way toward the championship. There isn’t another team out here more motivated then we are, I can tell you that, and that is exactly what we plan to do."
Herbert will face Alan Bradshaw in the opening round of eliminations for the 48th annual CARQUEST Winternationals.
