RACING AGGRAVATION PERSISTS FOR LUCAS OIL RACING
SEATTLE (July 23) -- The frustration continued for the Morgan Lucas racing camp as he was defeated by David Grubnic in the opening round of the Schuck's Auto Supply Nationals presented by Lucas Oil Products at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA. This marks the fifth consecutive race that the 22-year old Brownsburg, Indiana resident has lost in the first round.
Lucas ran an elapsed time of 4.753 seconds, 303.03 mph to Grubnic's winning time of 4.682 seconds, 321.42 mph.
He qualified No. 14 in the 16-car lineup after running a best time of 4.738 seconds, 310. 13 mph when the four rounds of qualifying were completed.
Lucas will remain in eighth place in the NHRA POWERade Top Fuel points standings with 653 points
Bringing the annual NHRA Western Swing to it conclusion will be the 19th annual Fram/Autolite Nationals next week at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California on July 28 -- 30.
