Herbert has Solid Run, Tool Company Battle in Opening Round
MADISON, Ill. (May 3, 2008) Four rounds of qualifying action for the NHRA Midwest Nationals saw Doug Herbert, owner and driver of the SnaponFranchise.com Top Fuel dragster, make several solid runs and learn quite a bit.
Herbert's quickest pass of the weekend came during the second session on Saturday. His solid 4.56 second pass at 322.82 mph placed him and the Snap-on team in the No. 12 position.
"On the last run we made some changes and we ran strong," said Herbert. "We found something, learned some things and now we are going to keep working with what we found and come out ready tomorrow."
"We race the other tool company car again in the first round. We beat them last week, so we know they are going to be aiming for us.
"It's going to be a good race, and we plan on putting the SnaponFranchise.com dragster through the first round and all the way to winner's circle."
Herbert will face Doug Kalitta in the opening round of eliminations.
