TOPEKA, Kan. (June \3, 2007) -- Jason Line, the reigning NHRA POWERade Pro Stock champ, drove his KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO to the semifinal round before being turned back by Dave Connolly during eliminations at the 19th annual NHRA O'Reilly Summer Nationals.
Line sent Larry Morgan packing in the opening round and Allen Johnson in round two before turning his attention to Connolly.
Connolly, one of the best at the starting lights, was out first, gaining an advantage of 78 hundredths of a second at the green, and never looked back running an elapsed time 6.748 seconds. Line covered the Heartland Park Topeka quarter-mile in 6.713 seconds in a losing effort.
With nine races left in the first segment of the Countdown, Line remains in the fourth position in the hunt for the eight available spots that move to the second segment of Countdown to the Championship.
