Banbury, England, Friday 19th April 2002: Earl Goddard from Brackley, Northamptonshire, will drive a Benetton V8 Cosworth in this years eight-round NDS EuroBOSS Series. The 22 year old South African-born former kart champion will race the 1994 ex-F1 Benetton, previously driven by Michael Schumacher during his first Formula One World Championship winning season.
Earl is one of a new breed of single seater racing drivers electing to race in the NDS EuroBOSS Series, a clear sign of the momentum and profile that this attractive series of former F1, Indy and F3000 cars has established. Having finished runner-up in the Championship for the past two seasons from a limited number of races, Earl will be one of the main contenders to win the 2002 Series outright.
Earl Goddard:
"It will be an exciting season and pretty competitive. Last year other racing commitments meant that I could only compete in four rounds. This year I shall be undertaking a full season in the NDS EuroBOSS Series and my aim is simply to win or score well in as many races as possible.
I can't wait for the first race at Donington (6th May), having won there twice last season. The car is well prepared and I'll be looking for a hat-trick, the only down side is that I'll probably get less than an hour to familiarise myself with the car before the action starts. Let's hope I'm a quick learner!"
The NDS EuroBOSS Series caters for all powerful open wheel single-seater racing cars of an unlimited specification including ex-F1, F3000 and Indy Cars. The 2002 Series commences at Donington Park over the May Bank Holiday weekend with the race taking place on Monday 6th May. A total of eight rounds are planned for the 2002 NDS EuroBOSS Series, including races in Ireland, Holland, France, Germany and the Czech Republic.
