SBRS: Watkins Glen Saturday qualifying

Fredrik Larsson's first round Friday qualifying mark held up, as the young Swede claimed his first Barber-Dodge Pro Series pole. None of the other 23 driver starting field was able to match his record-setting speed of 107.02 mph.

Jaki Scheckter, nephew of 1979 World Driving Champion Jody Scheckter, will start next to him for the Sunday morning 30-minute sprint. Series co-point leaders Barry Waddell and Geoff Boss will share the second row. A total of sixteen drivers broke the old series track record on the 3.4-mile Grand Prix course.
