Jimmy Moon Scores two top Five Finishes at Thunderhill

Ron Sutton Winner's Circle driver, Jimmy Moon, scored two more top five finishes in the Skip Barber Western Championship. At only thirteen years old, Jimmy Moon continues to impress every time he hits the track.

Showing speed right out of the box, Jimmy was the fastest in his group on Friday and followed up with third place qualifying position for race one. In a rain soaked race, Jimmy was running with the lead group, but put four off and had to make a mandatory pit stop. Staying focused, Jimmy charged from last back to fifth place. With no time on the track in the dry, Jimmy qualified seventh, but improving every lap during the race he was able to move up and finish race two in fifth position. Jimmy also participated in the memorial race where he set his fastest laps of the weekend and finished right behind his big brother Benny in fourth position among the championship drivers.

"The track was probably the most technical I've driven," stated Jimmy Moon. "All the rain made it really difficult, but I finished better than I thought I was going to. It was fun to race with my brother Benny, and I learned a lot this weekend that I can use in future races."

Next up for Jimmy is the penultimate round of the Western Championship at Laguna Seca Raceway where he looks for his first win and continue his move up the championship standings.
