Opel second in Championship

Sweden - Opel finishes second in F2 rallying.

Opel Team Sweden finished the year second in the Swedish Rally Championship after Per Svan took the Opel Astra Kit Car to second F2 placing in the final round Reijmer Rally. An electrical problem plagued Svan early in the event and he was unable to regain lost ground over eventual winner Andreas Eriksson (Ford).

Svan's championship hopes all but disappeared last month, when he failed to finish the Sandviken Rally following engine troubles to the Astra, leaving Jonas Kruse (Renault) to move ahead in the points table.
