David Wall has kicked off his 2009 season at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide with a hat trick of 2nd place finishes.

David, fighting for the Australian GT Championship behind the wheel of the PR Technology Racing number 38 Cup S Porsche, also qualified in 2nd place.

David pushed hard throughout the weekend, but was just not able to match the pace of Craig Baird's Mosler.

"The car is awesome, it is an absolute rocket," said David.

"I raced hard all weekend and was able to catch him through the corners, but I had nothing on the Mosler on the straights."

Through parity adjustments, David finished the weekend with an additional 160kg strapped into his passenger seat along with other penalties including ride height adjustments and a reduction in the engines performance.

Craig Baird and David ran nose to tail all weekend, pulling away from the pack with the only time the pair were caught was when the safety car came out.

Australian GT Series was a family affair this weekend with David joined in the race by his father, Des Wall who was running in the Porsche that the pair ran in the Merdeka Millennium Endurance race in Malaysia last year.

David and the Australian GT Series will now move to Melbourne and the Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix, which starts on Thursday.
