Archer Ready to Return to the Front at Laguna Seca
St. Clair, Mich. -- Tommy Archer is ready to put the last two races behind him and return to the team to the front at next weekends round ten of the SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Cup at Laguna Seca.
Archer, driving the number 36 Motorcity True Performance Viper, is very familiar with the 2.2-mile Laguna Seca Raceway. "I have always done well at Laguna. I've won there a bunch. I have only finished out of the top three once. The cork screw is great! The most difficult turn is the fast left hander after the cork screw, you really have to hang on." Commenting on the last two races at Road America and Mid-Ohio, Archer said, "we have had some small things happen that have hurt us, but we have to drive over that and put it behind us. Laguna is a good opportunity for us to do that and perform."
"We had a tough couple of races at Road America and Mid-Ohio, compared to the rest of our season. We expect a lot on race weekends and we need to get back to top form at Laguna," said Joe Tranchida, owner, Cinjo Racing. "We have two more races to go and I think we have yet to show our true potential as a team. We are still sorting the car and Tommy is finally getting comfortable with the chassis."
The Trans-Am race from Laguna Seca will be televised live on Speedvision starting at 4:50 p.m. EDT on Saturday, September 8.
