McSPADDEN WINS SECOND IN A ROW AT MANZANITA SPEEDWAY

April 8, 1995

These are the results of Sprint Car Racing Association's (SCRA) fifth scheduled event for 1995. Thirty (30) cars checked in for tonight's event. A crowd of 3,500-plus was on hand on a warm, balmy, breezy Phoenix evening at Manzanita Speedway.

Crossing the finishline first in winning his second Manzanita main event in a row was local favorite Lealand McSpadden. Following McSpadden was the rest of the "Arizona clan", Ron Shuman, Eric Wilkins and J.J. Yeley. Fifth went to Bobby Michnowicz.

Rounding out the top ten was Rip Williams, Richard Griffin, Jerry Coons, Jr., Steve Ostling and Verne Sweeney.

RESULTS:

TOP 10 QUALIFIERS - Ron Shuman, Eric Wilkins, Verne Sweeney, Rickie Gaunt, Richard Griffin, Lealand McSpadden, J.J. Yeley, Steve Ostling, Cory Kruseman and Jerry Coons, Jr.

1st HEAT - Shuman, Bill Andrews, Griffin, Kruseman, Mike Kirby, Tom Ball, Gordon Rodgers and Ricky Johnson.

2nd HEAT - Rip Williams, McSpadden, Wilkins, Ron DiDonato, Coons, Jr., John Scott, Keith Williamson, and Chris Rhein.

3rd HEAT - Troy Cline, Bobby Michnowicz, Cary Faas, Yeley, Mike Boat, Glenn Carson and Sweeney.

4th HEAT - Gaunt, Ostling, Jerry Meyer, Richard Harvey, Jr., Jeff Slinkard, Don Tucker and Mike English.

PASSING MASTERS DASH - Kruseman, Ostling, Yeley, McSpadden, Shuman, Griffin, Gaunt and Wilkins.

SEMI-MAIN EVENT - Coons, Jr., Kirby, Sweeney, Boat, Slinkard, Ball, Scott, Carson, Rodgers, Rhein, Williamson and Tucker.

MAIN EVENT - McSpadden, Shuman, Wilkins, Yeley, Michnowicz, Williams, Griffin, Coons, Jr., Ostling, Sweeney, Gaunt, Kirby, Faas, Boat, Meyer, DiDonato, Harvey, Jr., Slinkard, Andrews and Kruseman.

TOP 10 DRIVERS POINTS - McSpadden, 294; Yeley, 286; Shuman, 275; Williams, 254; Michnowicz, 232; Gaunt, 229; Kirby, 226; Wilkins, 225; and DiDonato and Meyer tied with 170 each.
