ALLSTAR: Eldora preview

All Stars Visit Eldora Aug. 4

CAMARGO, IL -- America's premiere 410 sprint car series, the Haulmark.com All Star Circuit of Champions sprint cars, will be racing on the world famous Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Thursday Aug. 4. With both earlier All Star shows scheduled at Eldora falling to Mother Nature, this will be the All Stars' first 2005 Eldora visit.

The one-half mile clay oval swings into action for three consecutive nights (August 4 - 6) as part of the Mopar sponsored Weekend of Thunder, with a smorgasbord of racing activity.

Thursday night's menu includes the All Star Sprints with their $5,000 to win program, along with the United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) modifieds and Eldora Stocks, while Friday features the final 2005 appearance of the WoO warriors in a $10,000 to win finale. The Sunoco sponsored American Late Model Series (ALMS) is included in the Friday doubleheader.

Saturday (August 6) will see the United States Auto Club (USAC) sanction the rich Mopar Thunder #2. A staggering $166,000 one-day payoff is featured, with $50,000 earmarked for the winner.
