All Stars support new weight rule.
TOLEDO, OH - On the heels of the announcement that the Pennzoil World of Outlaws will adopt a 1,375 pound weight rule with driver for the 2003 season, the All Star Circuit of Champions have announced their support for the new rule.
"For all intents and purposes the 1,375 pound weight rule is so similar to our existing policy that we have decided, in the interest of uniformity, to make the change," stated Joe Darmofal, Vice President of Operations of the All Stars.
"We are very interested in helping to establish uniform rules across the nation and we applaud the World of Outlaws' decision to support cost reductions and to establish a more level playing field for all competitors. We encourage weekly tracks and other sanctioning bodies to step up to the plate in support of these initiatives," Darmofal added.
The All Stars recently conducted their annual rules review meeting and additional changes for 2003 are currently being reviewed. All Star management expects to announce additional specification and procedural changes in the near future.
