Dreiling Sidelined for Balance of 2004 Season
TULSA, Okla. (June 30, 2004) - Medical conditions have forced current American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region point leader Mike Dreiling of Highlands Ranch, CO, out of action for the balance of the 2004 racing season.
The condition is believed to be a possible lingering effect of an injury incurred in a crash in non-sanctioned competition last year. Hospitalized this past weekend, it is expected that Dreiling will be released later this week. A full recovery is expected, with Dreiling planning on returning to Sprint Car racing in 2005.
The 2002 ASCS Rocky Mountain Region champion, Dreiling has recorded six feature wins in ASCS Rocky Mountain Region competition since 2002.
After a third place finish in ASCS Rocky Mountain Region 2003 points, Dreiling had moved atop the 2004 point standings by posting four top-five finishes through the series initial five features.
